PRAGUE (ČIA) – A total of 22,333 new companies were created in the Czech Republic in 2011, down 1,301 y/y. This stems from the statistics of Česká Kapitálová Informační Agentura, according to which this is the lowest number of new companies created in the past five years. A total of 45 % were created in Prague and 53 % of new companies are active in real estate, services and trade. Last year entrepreneurs invested CZK 37.23 bln into registered capital. A total of 357,701 capital companies were registered in the Czech Republic at the end of the year.
