Česmad: CR has fifth most expensive diesel in Europe

10.01.2012 - 19:08 | English news

PRAGUE (ČIA) – The Czech Republic has the fifth most expensive diesel in Europe. According to the Česmad Bohemia Association of Automobile Transporters, its high prices are caused by the strong dollar, the high price of oil on global markets, the increased consumer tax of 2010 and this year’s 25% increase in tolls. As the price of diesel is lower in most of Europe, not only transiting vehicles have stopped filling up in the Czech Republic but Czech trucks are fueling up abroad as well. The state budget is according to the association losing CZK 6 to 8 bln per year as a result.
