PRAGUE (ČIA) – The European Commission plans to introduce for the new budget period the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF), which should lead to higher internet access rates in Europe. In the EU’s 2014 to 2020 programming period, funds for investments should be allocated through the CEF. A total of EUR 9.2 bln is to be allocated for telecoms infrastructure and digital services with EUR 7 bln of this total to be used for high speed internet access projects.
