PRAGUE (CIA) – In Q2, gas consumption in the Czech Republic rose 31%. This is a sign of the Czech industrial recovery and starting crisis withdrawal, said Oldrich Petrzilka, president of the Czech Gas Union (CPU). The Union expects rather stagnation in the future, Petrzilka added, as growth may be expected in the case of the construction of gas-powered power plants and higher CNG consumption.
About seven projects of steam and gas power plants with a total output of 1 820 MW are at various stages of elaboration. The closest to the implementation is a CEZ power plant in Pocerady where gas supplies are to be launched in 2013, according to Petrzilka.
