PRAGUE (ČIA) – Last year’s fruit harvest fell 16 % y/y to 101,250 tons of fruit. This was stated for ČIA by the chairman of the Czech Fruit growers Union, Martin Ludvík, who added that fruit growers’ revenue losses are estimated by the union at roughly CZK 500 mln. He added that the low fruit harvest was not compensated for even by fruit prices as most of these also fell y/y. The drop in production was caused by last year’s spring frost which damaged most outplantings in the Bohemia.
