PRAGUE (ČIA) - The number of entrepreneurs active in the Czech Republic increased by nearly 60,000 to over 2.29 bln at the end of last year, according to data from the Commercial Register made public by the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic (MPO). There were more than 1.95 million individuals and 342,918 legal entities active in the Czech Republic in 2011. There were nearly 3.15 million authorisations for business in the Czech Republic. According to Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Bedřich Danada, the number of really active businessmen was lower. He thinks the real number of individuals active in business reaches 967,000.
