New cable TV Metropol TV is active in Prague

PRAGUE (CIA) – A new cable TV, Metropol TV, is starting its activities in Prague. The pilot broadcasting of the TV is available on the Internet and in the network UPC. The broadcasting in the network O2 will begin in September. The project is controlled by 11 TV Production and the agency A-News, which will deliver the content. CIA was informed by Jiri Nemecek, the executive of 11 TV Production.

Foreign firms in CR less affected by crisis than Czech ones
The economic downturn in 2009 had a different impact on local companies depending on their ownership structure. The "Foreign Firms in the Czech Republic" study prepared by Drahomíra Dubská, head of the analytical department at the Czech Statistical Office (ČSÚ), shows that Czech private firms saw the deepest fall in the crisis year with their gross added value sinking 11.7% compared with the previous year.
