PRAGUE (ČIA) – The banking sector in the CEE region will continue to grow above the EU average in the future, according to a CEE banking study for 2012 prepared by UniCredit Bank (UCB). This year will be highly demanding for the banking sector, the study says, as it will be marked by the regulatory changes and the debt crisis. However, the reduction of the debt financing of West European banks is estimated to be a burden that can be managed. There is a market potential as far as corporate loans and mortgage financing are concerned; the opposite is true about consumer credits.
